If you mail an invitation/bill, etc.....
to a "wrong address", doesn't it HAVE to come back to you if your return address is on it? Especially since this was 6 weeks ago? FYI-it was mailed to another state.
They were distinct printed labels, not written, so why didn't this person get it?

I used to think so.
But, we receive mail that doesn't belong to us- not even the same STREET...if it looks important, I call the USPS and have them come get it.
I know that for one of my wedding invites, it was delivered to the wrong address and the person was kind enough to write on the outter envelope "please return to sender ASAP- wrong address."

Kiss it goodbye, it will only make it back to you if the wrong address people send it back. Hate to say it so bluntly but when we get wrong mail we chuck it because the mailman is too lazy to take it back. (nothing against mailpeople but by mailman is lazy)

Re: If you mail an invitation/bill, etc.....
I worked at the post office in the airport where they would pack it for flight. That place was a miracle. A miracle meaning I am surprised half the stuff actually got anywhere. I saw stuff shredded, jammed beyond recognition, soiled, laying on the floor for days. I told my mom that if I ever needed to ship something somewhere else, I would buy a ticket on an airline and deliver it myself that is how bad it was there. So I am not surprised that mail was lost. That is also why I do most of my bill payments online.
