If you have your TV hanging
Show me where your components are. We are thinking of doing this to free up some space, I think we will have to put a cabinet of some sort on the other side of the room.

Re: If you have your TV hanging
In our basement we hung our tv and we put cabinets on the side. we got them made without doors so that we dont have to keep opening and closing the doors. A friend of mine has the infared remote that is supposed to go thru the door but it doesnt really work. We also thought about glass doors but it would have been very expensive and this is just our basement so i didnt want to go crazy. Here is a picture, although the cabinets are empty right now.... I would love something like this but there is no room on that wall, the basement door is on the wall also so it needs to be accesible. Right now we have a 60' TV on a stand but it's too big and we need a smaller one we can hang to make more room for toys This is in our den

Re: If you have your TV hanging
We are getting remote access for ours. This way, you can put the cable box, dvd player, xbox system all somewhere else. So we're putting them in the foyer closet.
I guess what it is is that there are sensory chips put on the tv, boxes, game systems, etc. So all the stuff can be hidden. Otherwise knowing my husband... he'd have remotes, games, controllers, wires... all over the place.

Re: If you have your TV hanging
we don't have it done yet, but we are going to have a component cabinet next to the fireplace in the living room
Upstairs we put a shelf under the TV that supports the DVD player and the cable box.
