If you have a split...
how is the main floor decorated?
We just bought a split and the main floor has kitchen, dining room, and living room. It's a very open floor plan and I am having a hard time deciding if I should paint all the walls the same color or not.
Recommendations? Pics?

kitchen is a gold color and entry way is a tan - one shade lighter than LR. We also used the lighter tan in the upstairs hallway and the downstairs den.

We have a front to back split, so when you walk in it's the LR/DR/kitchen and then a few steps up to the bedrooms or a few steps down to the den. We have the LR/DR and upstairs hall all the same color (a kind of dark green since it's got vaulted ceilings and big windows) and then the kitchen, bedrooms, baths and den are different colors.

Ours is laid out like Tines, but smaller, and no walls between the rooms. Our house is totally open. It is all painted the same color, a light yellowish tan.

I think your house is just like mine, and Im having a hard time with the same thing!!!I dont know were to end one room and start another so my DH said to just paint the DR and LR the same color so thats probably what Im gonna do for now. You can always change paint  Good luck!

I have a split like this and the downstrairs is all the same color and so is the upstairs hallway.
