If you have a large foyer/entry hallway
What do you have on the floor? Tile/wood etc, and can you post pics!

this is our foyer. we have a different rug down now than in the picture shown, smaller. we still haven't found anything we like. it's obviously a wood floor.
the back foyer has tiles
we also have a desk and a china cabinet in there now.

GORGEOUS!!! Did you put the wood down, or was it down already?
That's the problem, our first floor is on slab..so we can do engineered wood, but DH still feels like thats just like laminate...which it's not And to put down hardwood is A LOT!!!

no way! this floor was put down when the rest of the house was build, in 1800 
this house would have bankrupted me had we bought another, b/c I made dk PROMISE me we would put down reclaimed wide plank hardwoods if the other house didn't have them
can you post pics of your foyer? tbh, I would probably do a tile floor...maybe slate if I didn't do the wide plank hardwood.
but it also depends on the style of your house!!! such hard decisions!!!!

I saw on HGTV they had large tile in the foyer and the center had a medallion design made of tile too.

We have tile. I personally feel for an entrance tiles are better for rain and snow because some always ends up inside. I was told hard wood would not hold up as nicely. Heres a pic of mine. Image Attachment(s):

My parents have tile.
This is only pic I have but there is 2 steps up to the front door and they have a really pretty tile medallion there.
It's very nice but I miss the warmth of wood. Tile is definitely an acquired taste.
