If you got a breast pump through insurance, when/where did you actually get it?

The last item I need is a breast pump. It is covered by my insurance. One company said I had to give birth first. Another place kind of took my order but told me they had to verify through insurance and I may have a co-pay.

If you got a breast pump through insurance, when did you get the actual physical pump?

Did you have a co-pay?

Edgepark. No copay. I had to call my insurance within 30 days prior to the due date. They then sent paperwork to verify with the OB's office, and once it was approved then I called edgepark to let them know which pump I wanted and it was mailed to my house.

Edgepark is the company that kind of took my order. I had called them a few weeks ago and I thought they took my order and would ship 30 days prior. I called yesterday and said they had no order. I gave them all in my information again and still have no confirmation, exactly like the last time. She said she would verify with my insurance and it should ship. I feel that is what they said the last time I called and I heard nothing.

Dd was born early so I had her before I ordered it. It was really simple though. I asked my OB for prescription, went on the edgepark website and entered my info including a scanned copy of the script and the pump was delivered 2 days later.

I also got mine from Edgepark. I got a confirmation number through my insurance and called and used that number to order my pump. I had a choice between a few different pumps, but I was able to order it within 30 days of my due date.

I should have ordered it sooner because DD came 10 days early and my pump didn't show up until about 5 days after I gave birth and I could have definitely used it.

Did you get a confirmation email?

I think she did take my order yesterday but it just seems odd that I have no confirmation email. She said it should ship if there are no issues. I feel like I should have an order number or something.

I'm probably just skeptical since I called back in December and the guy who took my order made it sound like my pump should ship with no issues and then I wasn't even in their system.

I had to wait until I was 28 weeks before my insurance would allow me to order. It arrived a week later. I did not have a copay

I called insurance to ask how to go about getting my pump- each one seems to do it differently. Some allow one pump per pregnancy, others it's every certain number of years. Some say it must be no more than 30 days prior to your due date, others just send it out immediately. Some make you purchase and submit for reimbursement, others cover the cost up front.

My insurance covered the cost up front and sent the pump out right away, but I had to go to one of their chosen places. They gave me a list of a few brick and mortar places and then the website Byram Healthcare. Since I'm lazy and knew what I wanted, I ordered from Byram. It was SO easy, I didn't pay a dime out of pocket, and they shipped super fast.

ETA: Byram had everything done online. You put in your insurance carrier info and they give you a list of what you're covered for. Choose your pump and submit. I had a confirmation e-mail and shipping confirmation a few days later.

Pumping essentials. Ordered at 12 weeks didn't need a script or anything and didn't have a copay

My pump arrived Friday. No co-pay. They sent me something to e-sign on Thursday and I got the pump the next day.
