If you DH bought you a bag

that you don't LOVE, would you keep it b/c he got it for you, or exchange it?
We just had our 3rd anniversary (leather) and he got me a black coach tote from the Outlet. It's not exactly my style, but should I keep it just because it was a gift and he picked it out?

i think it depends on whether or not it would hurt his feelings. my DH has told me in the past, he would rather i get something i love than keep something, not be totally happy with it just to spare his feelings. he doesn't take it personally. but if your DH is really proud of himself for picking out this bag and his feelings might be hurt, i would just keep it.

btw, totally sweet that your DH picked out a bag for you!!!

Exchange it! DH got me a coach bag for my birthday last year. It was cute but not my style and I told him that & that I appreciated him trying. He happily took me to the outlet to pick out a new one. Now whenever I get compliments on the bag he will chime in "i got that for her" hahaha meanwhile I really picked it out

For Christmas one year DH bought me the ginormous LV Neverfull - in the monogram canvas. - But he had already gotten me a speedy in the same monogram a few years earlier, so I exchanged it for the Damier print - but got the same bag, just different print.

This Christmas he got me a Burberry bag - I wasn't in love w/ the plaid (It was the darker tan w/ the smaller plaid) So I exchanged it - same SHAPE bag (b/c that's what he picked out) but I got the bigger plaid print that I liked better .........

I try not to change EVERYTHING about something he picks for me - but honestly, if he's going to spend that kind of money on me for a bag, I want it to be something I LOVE and am going to use

Exchange it!!! Don't keep an expensive item that you don't really care about. You will never use it and you will feel bad if your DH ask you while you never use it.

I kept it. DH bought me an incredible pumpkin orange MK leather bag that took a while to grow on me but now I love.

Exchange it. He would rather give you something that you would use then something that you keep because you felt bad. This has happened to me with DH a couple of times, now he just makes me go with him

i would definitely exchange it for something that is more your style and that you will hold more often. i'm sure he'd be okay with it. it's a great gift idea!

OK, so we went to Tanger today and I got this: Signature large hobo


I am much happier and they even had a 30% off sale, so I was able to get something a little pricier and just about break even. Thanks ladies!

He bought me an LV for Christmas. If I didn't like it I would have exchanged it (though I would have felt bad..I slightly preferred another bag but kept the one he got bc I DID like it) But since I liked it and it was actually less "common" than the one I had in mind I kept it.
