If you BF and your DC had a dairy sensitivity
Is it possible to that they have a sensitivity and don't spit up? What were some symptoms ? Ds is 3 weeks old and in the last week has become a very cranky baby. He clearly uncomfortable. I hear lots of gurgling in his belly, he is having trouble pooping and passing gas. He also has had a few green poops. His eyes seem red and swollen but im not sure if its the lack of sleep or something else. I just know something is up and my Dr isn't in today.
He is EbF and I'm almost positive that its not a foremilk issue.

One of my twins had a dairy issue. they both had reflux. Her spitting up was reflux. the screaming was the milk.

If you BF and your DC had a dairy sensitivity
My older son had a milk protein allergy. He was never a big spitter upper. He had some periods of obvious discomfort and screaming, and then he had blood streaked poop one day and that was the telling sign.

exactly this. we didn't have any sings except noticing discomfort and then the blood in the stool. He didn't start to bleed until around weeks 6-7. It was obvious to us something was going on. once I cut out dairy for 3 weeks he was a different baby

When you cut out dairy what exactly did you get out? I know that sounds dumb but I want to be sure

You need to read the ingredients in EVERYTHING. I thought I was being dairy free by having PB on whole wheat toast for breakfast, however, when I looked at the packaging, the bread had milk in it!

You need to read the ingredients in EVERYT HING. I thought I was being dairy free by having PB on whole wheat toast for breakfast, however, when I looked at the packaging, the bread had milk in it!
So no milk products? Or diary like eggs and stuff ? This really sounds tough!

It depends on the severity of the sensitivity. You may only need to cut out obvious dairy (milk, butter, cheese, cream, etc.). In my case, I had to cut out hidden dairy as well because he was very sensitive. So I had to read every label, and couldn't have anything that had milk protein, whey, cream, butter, cheese, etc. in it at all. Kellymom.com has an awesome hidden dairy cheat sheet. I can't link it here because I'm on my phone, but if you go to their site and search around, you should be able to find it. It's very thorough and gives you all the words you need to look out for in ingredient lists. FYI eggs are not dairy, only stuff thatcomes from cows. Feel free to FM me if you have any questions, I'm happy to help if I can. I went totally dairy free for a year.

If you BF and your DC had a dairy sensitivity
I asked a few ladies on here what to cut out. They were a huge help. I cut out everything. I didn't eat anything fried, anything with casein...I literally had to read labels on everything I bought. I didn't eat out and if I did I made it a huge deal to the waiter and always said I was highly allergic and I needed to speak with the cook. I don't know if I needed to go that far but I couldn't stand seeing the blood in the stool after I had dairy by accident. You really need to just stay away from cows dairy. You can eat eggs. I carried a hidden dairy sheet that one of the girls sent me. Also, my doctor didn't think I needed to go as far as I did...I probably could have cut out obvious dairy and been fine. I wasn't minding the fact I was dropping huge amounts of weight each week LOL. At 10 months I slowly added hidden dairy and eventually all kinds and he is fine now. Good Luck!

If you BF and your DC had a dairy sensitivity
DS was always uncomfortable. You could hear his gut rumbling from across the room! We also had green poo with mucous.
I stopped all dairy and it got a bit better after a few weeks. Just to rule out a foremilk issue, I always nurse in the morning (when I am most full) laying down. I haven't seen the green poo in weeks. Dairy free isn't so hard once you find your favorite products! I use rice milk in my cereal, Amy's Dairy-free Burritos for a quick lunch, Stella D'Oro cookies for a treat.
Good luck!
