If you are petite
did you start to show earlier?
I did gain about 5 pounds already and I know that the munchkin is literally smaller than a munchkin, but I have a tummy already!
I thought it was bloat, but I wake up with a tummy now and it gets larger as they day goes on. This always happened, but now my morning stomach is pretty round.
I was of average weight, but am on the short side so I wonder: if you are smaller, do you show earlier?

Re: If you are petite
My neigbors could tell that I was pregnant at 8 weeks. I'll never forget. I was walking outside of my house and they yelled "Congratulations!!!!" - I was in shock!
So yes, I think everyone shows differently. I know petite girls who didn't show until well into their 2nd trimester!

Re: If you are petite
I'm 4'11 and 1/2!! (almost 5 ft, but not quite there!). I was bloated from week 6, but didn't really start to "show" where other people knew it was from being PG, and not just bloat or weight gain, until I was about 16 weeks, and then, only depending on what I wore. I knew, and from my belly pics, you can certainly tell, but I think to everyone else, unless I told them I was pg, everyone just thought I gained a couple of pounds.

Re: If you are petite
I'm only 5 feet. I'm 17 weeks, and you can only tell i'm pregnant if i expose my belly. Depending on what i wear, i can still get away with not looking pregnant. Also, i did notice that you tend to look even bigger than what the scale says..you belly starts to swell.

Re: If you are petite
I popped between 12 & 13w and I thought it was super early to be showing as much as I was. When I mentioned it to the doctor he looked at me as if I were crazy and said, "Um, you didn't have a lot of extra room... exactly where did you want the baby to go "
So the short answer is yes, it's often that petite women show a little sooner than those that are not petite.

Re: If you are petite
I starting showing at 8 weeks with my co-workers noticing my little belly. Nothing really fits and I'm starting to wear some maternity clothes.

Re: If you are petite
I started showing pretty early. I dont remember the exact week but people were able to tell around 3 months and now I look bigger then 25 weeks. I think in the end everyone carries differently anyway.

Re: If you are petite
i'm 5'3" and pre-pregnancy weighed 105 pounds. i was not noticeably pregnant to strangers until about 18 weeks. my sister is even skinnier than me and still has a pretty flat stomach at 18 weeks. everyone's bodies are different. i dont think that just because you are skinny that you will show any faster.
