I don't get it. How can you enhance a diamond? Why are enhanced diamonds less expensive than the regular kind?
Just wondering!

I am *pretty sure* "enhanced" means like they somehow alterer the flaws with a lazer or something. Not 100% natural.

I thought enhanced means that they inject it with something to take away the flaws or make it more sparkly??
Not sure!

Not sure! yes
they inject the diamond with some kind of gel that covers flaws. by law all enhanced diamonds must state that they are enhanced, and I am pretty sure that b/c of that, are not very valuable.

Re: If a diamond is "enhanced" what does that mean?!?
Clarity enhanced....they inject it with some sort of filler that may disguise a spot of carbon or some other flaw. If the clarity of a diamond is very poor, the diamond itself is at risk to chipping or cracking. I believe that most clarity enhanced diamonds are of such a clarity that they are at risk to start. Then, the process of injecting something puts the diamond more at risk. The diamond will never be as durable as one that is not enhanced or one that has better clarity. One problem with clarity enhanced diamonds is that they may receive an incorrect grading. I don't think that reputable sellers will carry clarity enhanced diamonds.

They do something to the diamond so that it looks more "brilliant" aka sparkly. But honestly even though its cheaper than a real diamond to me it looks like a fake diamond because its just too sparkly. Also you cannot put fire to it so its not really re-usuable so for example if you buy earrings i dont think you can make it into a necklace etc.
