Ideterminant bw results
So I spoke with my Dr. about the results of my bw for IVF. He said that my HTLV came up indeterminant with two bans reacting. He said infectious disease reviewed my results and considers it a negative. However, he said I should retest to double check - he didn't seem overly concerned. He said that HTLV is related to HIV but everywhere I look says it has to do with leukemia. I was actually getting sick when I had my bw done. Anyone have any insight??????????

Re: Ideterminant bw results
It is a retrovirus: like HIV and herpes.... but is NOT those two... so I would say it is "like" HIV in some rudimentary mechanisms, but is not related to it. HIV used to be called HTLV III, as stated below.

Something else that is interesting is that the H1N1 vaccine can cause false positives when testing for HTLVI. Also false positive can occur with acute illnesses.

Re: Ideterminant bw results
Thanks. I hate all these tests... sometimes more problems with no answers. I will speak with the PA tomorrow about it again.
