Ideas...
I have a 2 bedroom home...one room is currently set up for DH's daughter (10 years old)....we want to set up this room for both the baby and our daughter. She's usually with us on weekends. This won't be a permanent thing, it will be only be until we can do some work and add another room for her...but we don't want her to feel as if we are putting her to the side. She knows our plans and she is all for them..she actually thinks she should share the room with the baby forever....but I still want to set up the room so that she feels like its her room too. We are going to take her current bedroom set to her mother's so we can have room for the crib, dresser/changing table and a twin size bed for her...but I am clueless on how to set it up...
any ideas or pictures???
Thanks in advance

Re: Ideas...
she sounds about the right age for a bunk bed. how about one with a desk underneath instead of a second bed so she can have some privacy if she needs it? you can also think about putting up a canopy of some sort over her current bed, or a chinese screen next to her bed. it's kind of hard to get ideas without a pic of the room. how big is it?

its not a big room...I have cape home..most capes have the same set up...
but let me try to explain...right now she has a dresser, a desk and a twin bed in the room, there's a full closet and 2 windows in the room...the dresser is on the right as soon as you walk in the bed is in front of the door against the wall and the desk is in between the two against the wall next to one of the windows.

(if i read that correctly) my guess is you are planning on putting the baby's crib and dresser against the wall opposite her bed. i think in that case a canopy (like the kind you hang fron the ceiling) would give her a bit of privacy. i see how you wouldn't have much room to move things around, my only concern would be waking her up when the baby cried in the middle of the night. are you planning on having the baby in a bassinet or PNP for the first couple of months?

I do...I love her so much and that's why I'm so worried about how she would feel.

Re: Ideas...
Ilike the idea of a loft bed with at least her desk underneath. She can hang a curtain up an dhave some privacy underneath- maybe put a lamp and a bean bag chair for her to read in peace.
