ice girls coverage
Ok..I am a big Islander fan but is everyone sick of seing these 2 page articles on what happened the other night. I think the whole thing was blown way out of proportion and 2 days in a row to devote 2 full pages to this seems silly.

Re: ice girls coverage
I agree. At least keep the ice girls story in the sports section. I think to have that yesterday as the front page was a little ridiculius.

Re: ice girls coverage
I agree to much attention given, my diehard Ranger fan husband thinks they are trying to break the Rangers focus with all this garbage... haha

basically, Lundquist (ranger goalie and hottie hot hot) was accused of throwing water at the "ice girls" as tehy cleaned the ice around him. it was blown way out of proportion.

Re: ice girls coverage
It is a NHL rule that teams must clear the ice of 'snow piles' at the net and at the benches during the TV timeouts.
Islander Ice Girl tried to clear out the crease of snow and the Ranger goalie would not move. So she just stood there. He took his stick, and hit her 'snow pusher implement' and him hitting her stick caused it to jab into her stomach, giving her a welt.
Then, they went to clean off the snow near the benches, and as she was doing her work, her back suddenly got all wet. So, someone else on the team either squirted water on her, or spit on her.

Re: ice girls coverage
Forgot to add - yes, it proves that Newsday is fluff and has nothing else better to print. If it was the sports cover, maybe. But there are more important things in the world and on Long Island than the Rangers goalie and the ice girls crying their eyes out.
I was actually interviewed by Newsday about it at the game last night... I told them it was ridiculous that it was a cover.
