I would like to thankmy extended family for telling my son that they are going tonight to shoot off cherry bombs etc
So, you can buy fireworks at stands down here in SC. My cousins (not close) practically bought out a whole stand. Whole family getting together tonight and promises made to my son that "We'll teach you to shoot off some M-80s! Blow up coffee cans!"
He's all ramped up and we're going to have to tell him "No f-ing way". My brother is also putting the kabosh on it for his kids.
How, in this day and age, do people think it's ok for kids to handle fireworks?
THIS is why I never hang with the redneck bubba group of the family.

I would be mad also.
I saw my neighbor blow off his arm last year while doing fireworks.
My kids will never be allowed to be anywhere near fireworks!!!!

There's a whole moratorium on fireworks in the Carolinas for this weekend because of the droughts going on. It's so scary how much of the states are already on fire!

I would be livid too. I was volunteering in the ER the night my friend blew off his fingers because of fire works. I have a no fireworks policy as well.

DH's family loves to set off fireworks for the 4th of July. While I do enjoy spending the holiday with them..I DO NOT like the idea of the fireworks...so I keep DD1 (and now for this year, DD2 as well) inside the house with me....at the other end of the house.
