I wish DS would stop crying
this past weekend he was such an angel..hardly fussed,we took him out for a while and he was such a good boy. My DH kept joking that he didnt understand what i complain about all week.
Come monday he's a total fuss pot and cries all the time. after feedings, before feedings, if he's not held. He hardly sleeps for long stretches during the day. all morning i was literally glued to the couch holding him, or rocking him in his nursery. If i put him down for 5 min he starts screaming agin. Yet he doesnt seem to be in distress (unless its after a feeding and the gas starts sometimes or if he's trying to poop) b/c sometimes as quickly as the crying starts, he just stops and goes about his business.
I know this is all par for the course with a new born. I just wish i had a happier baby

Re: I wish DS would stop crying
I've been there twice...my second son is 12 weeks right now and just started sleeping through the night. He really never gave me long stretches during the day even if he wasn't moody. All I can say is hang in there, it will get better.
Also my DH never really sees what goes on in the house. It's trashed all the time thanks to my 2 year old. Lights will be on in every room 'cause now he can reach the switch. It's gets me really tired on top of caring for a newborn and as always when DH comes in he always sees the newborn sleeping and my other son sitting quietly on the couch watching wubbzy or something. He thinks it's like that all day!

Re: I wish DS would stop crying
ugh...i know how you feel! let me just tell you that the first 6 weeks are HARD! even with an easy baby it can be tough. i had a tough baby and an easy baby and found this period to be difficult either way. you will see a big difference in your DS in the coming weeks provided he doesn't have an allergy or colic. but give it time. you will see the smiles and will have a happy baby before you know it. i won't lie-that period for me is my least favorite b/c it's like the baby is an eating/crying/pooping machine. it will pass!! hang in there!!
p.s. i found that wearing DS/DD in a sling during that time was a lifesaver since i had my hands free and it would make them sleep. i would even walk around Target/babies r us while they were sleeping in there! felt good to get out! :)
