At 12 weeks you will be 3 months.

Consider each month to be 4 weeks. So at 8 weeks you are 2 months....
at 12 weeks you are 3 months.

I get what you are saying... I would figure that yes, you would be starting your 3rd month going into your 9th week, because week 9-12 is the third month? right? hehe

No, I believe this chart is correct. Pregnancy does not last 10 months...it's a solid 9 however, so if you went even a day late technically you would be *starting* the 10th month.

this whole thing is soo confusing!!
I go by what to expect when your expecting book in what month i am in.
if you are starting your 8th week, you are starting your 3rd month, you will be starting your 4th when you complete your 12th week or so.
I am 19 weeks, according to that book 18-22 weeks is 5 months pg.
I go by that book to tell people months, otherwise i for my own sanity i stick with weeks,but people for some reason dont' want to hear weeks.

I've always read that your 1st "month" is the first 6 weeks, i.e. from the date of your last period +6 weeks equals 1 month. You're not really pregnant from the date of your last period, but that is when they start counting the 40 weeks.
Because of this, I always find it easier to state how far along I am in weeks and let everyone around me figure it out. AND I like to count down (i.e. "I am due in August", I have 6 months left).
