i was so annoyed last night at my dr's office

i showed up 20 mins early for my appt cause i went straight from work. there were only 2 other people in the waiting room and they called us in in the order we arrived. the nurse left my exam room and said the dr would be in a couple mins. i checked my watch and it was the exact time of my appt. well... an hour later the dr walks into my exam room and he didnt even apologize for the wait. during the hour i was waiting in there, i read 2 magazines, opened the door cause i was hot, asked one nurse what was going on and she said he would see me soon, another nurse came by and said she had to close my door so the dr would know i was ready and that he would be with me soon.

i really couldnt believe i waited an hour in the room. that had never happened to me before there. i feel like something probably came up in one of the other rooms that took up a lot of his time cause the waiting room wasnt crowded at all.

i really hate that too. I get so annoyed how doctors don't treat patients like their time is valuable as well.

I would have direclty asked what the issue was and if there wasn't an emergency it would be time to switch. I never put up with dr's or dr's staff who can't book appointments correctly.

I have found a great general dr and OB that usually always run on time. my regular dr doesn't accpet new patinets and when you walk in there is never anyone in the waiting room. he is a great dr and he spends as much time as you need with him. you are never rushed. I love that. and the office staff is so nice, probably because they aren't over worked and stressed out!

Last time that happened to me it was bc an emergency came in and he eneded up having to monitor her and then send her off to the hospital.

I completely understand emergencies, I just wish SOMEONE would pop in and let you know that there is an emergency and the wait will be longer than usual.

I am sure there was an emergency. That is the only time I had to wait in his office. I am sorry they didn't tell you why you were waiting. I would have asked him why you had to wait he would have told you. I think you should say something at your next visit. He will want to know you weren't happy. Hope your next visit is better.
