from my own experience, just a card will do.

silly question..are there cards for this or do I just send a blank card with a note?

Just send a pretty card, from my own recent mc, I would have just preferred a nice phone call...but I also got some flowers, which was nice, but made me slightly uncomfortable.

i don't really think there is anything you can really send her....also, she is not going to want "something" around after this is all over b/c every time she looks at it, it will be a painful reminder - the pain is always in your heart anyway. I think a card would be fine - maybe a "thinking of you"card....and just be there for her as a friend if she wants to talk about it. That's the best gift you can give.

Re: I want to send my friend something who is miscarrying..any ideas
When I had my m/c my BIL and his gf sent me flowers, which I thought was sweet, and my mom gave me some nice smelling lotion and a laundry spray that I could spritz on my pillow, it was to help me relax. I think another nice idea would be a gift card to order in dinner, I felt that doing the mundane things like cooking dinner was tough.

From my own experience, just let her know you are there if she ever needs to talk. Getting a card or flowers or anything of the like would have upset me even more. But that's me.

I can't quite explain it, but personally I didn't feel like "someone" had died, and other people were treating it that way. I was feeling more like I was mourning my own hopes and dreams rather than a person, and they were all send like "in sympathy" and I never felt that way. Because I miscarried at 19 weeks, I think other people were very shocked and upset, maybe a bit more than I was, I was upset, but realistic.

I agree with Racheee, a handwritten card expressing your sympathy and emphasizing that you are there for her, is probably best. Other than that, my only thought is comfort food...

When I had mine I just thought that the kind words from others was enough.

i got flowers. i was OK with them. i viewed it as thinking of you not in sympathy. the only thing that will make it better is a baby so im not sure there is much you can do. maybe a card would be best.

Re: I want to send my friend something who is miscarrying..any ideas
When I had mine, a local friend made me a package with some candy and a pair of pj's which was nice. And two out of town friends sent cards which was really sweet.
I think a card is sufficient. And, call to check in. I found that after a couple of weeks, most people never asked how I was doing and the emotional part lasts a long time!

Re: I want to send my friend something who is miscarrying..any ideas
Just a card that says something like "I'm thinking of you and let me know if you need anything" without a lot of other details. I also wouldn't have wanted "things" around to remind me of what happened.

When my friend went through her m/c, we sent her flowers just to let her know that we were thinking of her. She seemed okay with receiving them.

When my friend had a MC I actually bought her a GC for a mani/pedi and told her to spoil herself a little and spend some time on herself. She really appreciated the gesture.
