I think someone tried to break into our house!
The side door to the tenants apartment is cracked and there is a noticeable mark near the spot where the lock is from someone trying to force a screwdriver or something to open it.
This is so scary! You would literally have to go into our yard and walk completely around the house to get to that door.
DH still has to ask the tenants if they ever tried to pry the door open themselves if they lost their keys, but I feel so violated and scared right now!!!!
I want to start looking into alarm systems.....

we have motion lights but it was in the daytime!
It's just weird that they would want to get upstairs......and if they wanted to break into the downstairs, they wouldn't use that door.
I really hope it's one of those friggin girls upstairs being stupid, this way I can feel better AND kick their azzes.
From now on my dog is staying out of his crate!!! His bark is pretty scary from the outside.
