I think its time
Hi Ladies,
I have been trying to get PG since the end of last summer. DH and I have progressively gone from just not being careful to currently using the cbefm along with preseed and other little remedies to increase cm.
This month (Mother's Day) was my deadline. I'm going for an annual in 2 weeks and I'm going to insist my Dr runs tests. I've always been regular and have never had any menstrual related issues. I just can't shake this feeling that something is just not right. Dh is willing to for an SA but we are not sure how to go about that. Do we need a referral? Is it something that my Dr can address?
Are there any tests or questions I should be prepared for when I see my Dr? Last September when I went for a consult to tell him we were TTC and that I was concerned about my very heavy periods, he did an internal sono and said everything looked fine and that he saw no reason why I shouldn't be able to get pregnant on my own. I think that we may need to take the next steps. I really just can't take the heartache every month anymore. Its been really tough not letting it consume my whole life. I never thought it would be this hard
Thank you for listening and any advice you can offer is greatly apprecitated.

Re: I think its time
First off, welcome, i hope your stay here is VERY SHORT
Your gyno, or regular doc can write you a script for a SA. My DH went to a Quest lab and had his done there. Your Doctor should be able to give you a list of places you can go. Quest was most convenient for us. We made the appointment online and he was in and out. Typically you get results back within a few days.
You did not mention your age, but here is my advice, go see a RE, there is no harm in it. Some here might find that premature, but I am speaking my opinion only, from my experience. I regret waiting as long as I did. (This has become a 2 year journey for us, and we are young, healthy, etc etc. never thinking anything like this would ever happen to us.) They will run the preliminary tests. Usually just some blood test and sonos and perhaps monitor your cycle to see what’s going on. Nothing too evasive. SA and blood test can rule out a large number of concerns. Either way, after months of heartache every time AF shows up, you will at least have a feeling of relief that you are being pro active and are not alone in this journey. Depending on your results, you, your DH and doctor can make a plan you all feel comfortable with. But at least you have some information and a plan.
I wish you the best !!! Feel free to FM or post any questions here. You have come to the right place, this board is an excellent source of support and advice with amazing women ! Keep us posted!

Re: I think its time
I would ask your Dr for a recommendation for a RE or go by recommendations on this board.
A RE will do a lot more tests like an HSG ( to see if your tubes are blocked), CD3 Bloodwork, SA, and a few others.
I'm sorry!
Just remember if there is a simple answer to why you are not getting pregnant, most things there is a solution for!!! It will happen.

Re: I think its time
If you are very concerned you should make an appointment with an RE. They are the best to help you, and know exactly what to look for. They will order many tests to rule out possible problems, and they will give you a plan
