I stopped taking the pre-natals

I stopped taking the pre-natal vitamins that my OB gave me and I haven't told her yet. I started to take OTC prenatals because the one she gave me were way to big for me to swallow. I have been kind of afraid to tell her that I am not taking the ones she prescribed to me. I take Target brand prenatals. And when I ran out of those, I took Flinstone chewables. How should I tell her when I go and see her on June 9th? I checked the labels on the prescription ones and the over the counter and they were basically the same. The important ingredients were the same.

you have to be your OWN advocate. If the ones she gave you didn't work for you (for whatever reason) - then speak up! (i know - easier said than done..)

I take the Target prenatals, plus a DHA supplement and one Folic Acid supplement as well. My OB is FINE with it!!!! I have a VERY bad stomach and these are the only vitamins i have taken in my ENTIRE LIFE that have not caused me to vomit (no joke).

Be truthful with your OB. Your doc isn't going to ground ya!

Just be upfront and tell her like you posted here. The other pnvs were too difficult to swallow and you are now taking XYZ. She may ask you to take an additional folic acid pill b/c flinstones don't have the same amount as the pnvs do. I would ask her about that.

Thanks for the info. I have been taking Folic Acid since the day I found out I was pregnant. (Forgot to add that in my previous post) It is mixed in with my daily medications, so I don't forget to take it. I like the target brand too. They are easy on my stomach. I guess I will have to bring the bottle with me when I go next week and see what she says. I have always had a problem expressing myself in certain situations and unfortunately this pregnancy has been one of them.
