I still miss being pregnant

This probably sounds a bit strange, but part of me misses being pregnant. My DD is almost 11 weeks old, and I am so incredibly in love with her, but sometimes I get caught up thinking about my last few weeks of pregnancy. I loved feeling all the kicks, plus the anticipation of wondering when labor would start, what it would be like to meet her for the first time, introducing her to friends and family. While we plan to have another baby down the road, I know it will be different, and won't have that "special-ness" of being a first time expectant mom. Did anyone else feel this way? I thought it was a bit of post-partum, but I don't have any other symptoms.

What's crazy to me is that during the last week, I was so miserable, but now that it's over, part of me wishes I could go back to that time.

Yes I totally felt that way! DD is now 11 months and sometimes I'm STILL envious of those first time moms. It'll get better. It's completely normal

It's the hormones!!! I felt the same way after each of my children.

I felt the same way!! I think it's some crazy hormonal thing. It finally went away around 4 months post partum...and now I'm pregnant again at 6 months pp! Starting to remember some of the harder parts now!

You will get over it. Funny, I honestly feel the opposite way. I am 32w with DD2 and am petrified of going into labor (was induced with DD1) and am also scared of being induced again! And having a newborn is not fun (to me) - all they do is sleep and cry and hang off of your boob! DH and I wish we could just be handed a 3 month old, lol. Of course not really, but those first few months are so hard.

I promise you that while having a new baby is exciting, watching that baby grow into a person is just the most amazing thing. You will forget all about not having a new baby soon and be so excited to watch your daughter grow.

I say it all the time! My third is almost 15 mo and knowing we are done makes me miss it even more!

My DS is 11 weeks and I miss being pregnant too. I loved everything about being pregnant, even the MS and crazy back pain.

I had an emergency c section and that first week I swore I would never want another baby, but now....I would do it in a heartbeat.

I remember being this way with my first DS too. But I never got over that...hence the 2nd baby!

I felt the same way after I had dd up until I found out I was pregnant whenshe was 8 months. Ds is 8 weeks today and I do miss being pregnant but I am thrilled to be able to sleep on my belly and tie my shoes without needing oxygen lol

Me too!! I'm jealous of the pregos. and I didnt have the easiest pregnancy either. Once in awhile Ill get a gas bubble that feels like when they would move in my belly and I get sad.

You're definitely not alone! I really miss being pregnant! I had a great pregnancy and felt amazing at the end. I felt better pregnant than not pregnant. I would love to be pregnant again, but I doubt it will be as amazing as my first pregnancy!

I have birth two weeks ago and I feel the same way as you. When I had my daughter three years ago I also experienced the same emotions. It's funny because I couldn't wait to be done being pregnant because I was so uncomfortable. Now that I'm not pregnant I miss feeling the baby move, going to the doctor's appointments and being treated in a "special" way. It has to be hormones

I had an ok pregnancy and still miss being pregnant. I had DD 3 weeks early and feel everything happened so fast. In the blink of sn eye she is already 4 weeks. I miss her kicks and hiccups and just that special feeling of it being just her inside me. Plus I don't know if its in the cards for us to have another baby and it feels strange knowing I may never experience that again.

DD is almost five months and I still miss the feeling of her moving and kicking inside my belly and I think I always will. There's just something so amazing about a little life growing inside you. Now I get why every mother I came in contact with during my pregnancy got this dreamy look on their faces when they touched my belly. They had to have been remembering the days when they were pregnant.
