I really wish people would educate themselves....
Ugh, there is a post on LIW on the pets board about someone trying to sell their puppy for 1,000  
some of the posts are just shocking "I see nothing wrong with breeding and trying to sell my purebreds", "you never see pure bred dogs at adoption centers" "what should I do with the puppies my dog has if not to sell them, I have bills too" 
I am speechless

I didn't even know that board existed on there! lol and i am on there all the time! but it seems the posts are mostly out of date...I don't think it's bad that RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE breed their dogs...but it's amazing how much they sell them for! I paid a bunch for my Pom...i paid $600 and I thought that was a fortune. I just wanted to a companion!

yikes! that is sad. unless you are a professional you shouldn't be breeding dogs. i love dogs but have NO business breeding them!! i'm a great mother to charlotte -- that is all.
and to say that you can't find pure breed dogs, if that is what you want, at a shelter is ridiculous. my aunt mary adopted a pure miniature schnauzer, papers and all, from a shelter. he was in a litter of pups that were just abandoned. what a wonderful dog.

I can't believe that post is still there.
My first reaction to the "What am I supposed to do?" post was -- You were supposed to spay and neuter those dogs!
I also love the person who is 99% sure that puppy mills don't breed purebreds.

Exactly. I did my research although it took weeks, I was finally able to rescue a purebred chihuahua from a rescue. He and his siblings had been dumped off at a shelter...
