I really need your help guys
we are planning a last minute trip this weekend. We would like to go away for 2-3 nights starting tomorrow night.
I've done some searching on here and around.
The criteria is, 2-3 hour drive. Relaxing with pool and or by beach. More romantic than family oriented.
Not sure there really is a budget but would love some suggestions.
I'm a bit of a hotel room snob and would love some luxury or spa..but overall just a relaxing long summer weekend.

Is Rhode Island too far?? I think Rhode Island is very romantic and couples oriented. Plus they have great bed and breakfasts/hotels. It can be by the beach and/or a body of water.
Also, if you wanted to stay on the island you could do hamptons/montauk.
I have never been to conneticut but I hear the Saybrook Point Inn and Spa is amazing. I have had quite a few friends who have went there and loved it. The Marriott Mystic hotel and spa is also supposed to be nice.

RI may not be too far. I was looking at the Saybrook. They had one room available as of yesterday.

This may be a bit far (about 3.5 to 4 hours from Manhattan, but its an amazing place with historic rooms an amazing indoor mineral fed pool and an outdoor pool that has a view of the mountains. I've been there a few times, its a lot closer to where I live
