i realize this question may go along the super glue jesus thread..
but how do you get rid of a bible?
we have 4..2 each from high school(we went to the same school,same grade and everyone had one that got blessed)...one from a relative when we got our first place and one that was in my wishing well at my shower
i want to keep one...when i tried to put them in recycling dh almost fainted saying u cannot throw them away..u have to keep forever??
this lead to many bad jokes back and forth between but i would like to get rid of the three
is there a safe non burning in hell for all eternity way of doing this that dh will get off my case

Donate them to your local church or shelter. They usually can recycle them or give them to other people.

I have them entumbed in the walls 
We found 2 in the basement when we ripped the walls down & my DH said we couldn't get rid of them fearing something along the lines of a haunting. I'd put them in the attic and leave them

Technically speaking you can get rid of it anyway you want... "There are no specific scriptural instructions on how to dispose of an old Bible. While God's Word is holy and to be honored (Psalm 138:2), there's nothing sacred or hallowed in the physical materials: the paper, parchment, leather, and ink."
A lot of people feel that the proper way to discard a bible is to bury it....
EDT: If they are in good condition, donate it.

I agree with donate it but make sure you shake those babies out just in case you have something stuck in them!

Donate them. That would be the safest and easiest way and would give your DH peace of mind. Otherwise, store it away somewhere in the house.

i recently went through books from college and realized i had 2 different versions of the bible that i needed for different classes; i gave them to my parents to donate to their synagogue because i felt weird just tossing them.
