I probably should be nesting by now....

...with 10 weeks to go, nothing is ready. I mean NOT A DARN THING.

Ed-lie's future room is our current "dumping grounds." It is not ready to be painted (assuming we are allowed to paint as we need permission from the landlord).

Though we did not plan on setting up a nursery before she was born anyway, the furniture has yet to arrive from where we bought it. It will be in storage til she arrives.

Stuff is coming of the registry which I find hilarious since I'm not having a shower and most people in our circle of friends and family know that we are too superstitious to do anything of significance until she is here.

Whats even funnier about this whole scenario is that I really don't care. It will get done because it has to. I am willing to bet that my lack of schedule and organization skills would send most moms-to-be at this stage of pregnancy into a tailspin. I also work better under pressure.

Perhaps I should be worried, but ya know? Im not. Too cool man. Too cool.

Anh. You'll get it all done in time. I couldn't even nest b/c we had to move before Christopher was 1 month old.

How are you feeling?

I feel great. Just unmotivated. No desire to do any of this. I do know that G-d forbid I go early, I am majorly effed.

You obviously have not met mine. I just asked him for a Big Mac and he asked me "Why?" I said "Why not?" and he said "Because I am comfortable."

There ya go.

Note the Scrabble, Boggle, and the 409. We have high hopes for her!

Re: I probably should be nesting by now....

I am moving Hayley out of her room and her new room is a disaster areaChat Icon Now that I finally picked a color to paint, I have to go thru all of her toys and consolidate them (seriously I could open a day care and have enough toys for other kids...lol) get rid of my old entertainment center (first I have to find a home for all the junk stored in it) and move everything into the middle of the room so DH can paint after the 4th of July.

I still need to buy her a new bedroom set and figure out a way to organize her toys in that room too Chat Icon

Since I will be putting DD#2 straight in the crib I really need this done before she arrives Chat Icon

Re: I probably should be nesting by now....

I look at it this way...every other kid born in my family survived just fine without a complete nursery when they came home from the hospital and so will mine. Shoot half the time they have their eyes closed anyway and won't know the difference. Odds are that she will be in the Pack N Play for 2 days anyway.

Re: I probably should be nesting by now....

i've got less than 12 weeks to go and we will just be painting the nursery this coming week. we have no furniture and no rug, nothing for the baby yet - and we won't buy any of that until after my shower which is in just over 4 weeks.

i am clearly not the nesting type Chat Icon

Re: I probably should be nesting by now....

Nesting will be cleaning for me.

The organizational stuff is just who I am. We will start painting this weekend and then its pretty much done in my opinion. But cleaning the rest of the house before my Dad gets here on August 21st makes me feel like that’s not nesting either.

*shrug*

Maybe I’ll change as I get closer, I’ve got 12 weeks.

Funny thing is, I actually DON'T feel bad. This is what I am used to. I don't know any different. That's why I get a lil chuckle when I see people due 2 months after me with a nursery all set up and good to go. It all works out in the end.

You are right to be unconcerned and good for you not stressing. I don't remember using my DC's nursery at ALL those first few weeks! The baby lived in our room for the first few months anyhow.

Benjamin and I are a package deal so of course I'd bring him. I may even dress him in an outfit with suspenders for Edward's amusement. Seriously, say the word and we're there!
