I need your help...Mommy makeover-kinda

If some of you don't know I'm involved in St. Baldricks and in 2007 and 2008 I shaved my head. My hair is in the process of growing back in. I haven't had a hair cut since 2008. I'm looking for a new do but can't find one.

Please help me.....

I have very very very thick curly hair-not tight tight curls but its curly. The longest pieces are almost to the middle of my back (so its medium to long in length) The way my hair is growing in is it looks like I have layers (as layers makes hair look thinner) But I need to do something different to it.

Any suggestions? If you have any or find any pics-please post them. I just haven't found the perfect style yet :(

ETA: Can't go short bc of how thick my hair is..it swallows my face (and it make me look heavier )

I love these two, they both have wavy semi curly hair that is layered nicely.

Would you be willing to go this short?

I think it is not so much the style as making sure you have a great hair dresser who really knows how to cute curly hair!
