I need recommendations for a clean & safe place for piercings in NYC
My cousin who is 16 wants me to take her to get her tongue pierced.

the tongue hurts soooooooo bad
it seriously hurt me so much, i took it out after 4 days i couldnt take the pain.
it also gives some people a lisp.
i dont know of anywhere that is clean enough (by my standards) to get pierced in the city.
most tattoo shops only do tattoos.... & places that do piercings are sometimes grimier.
i would opt for Tattoo Lous on LI or something like that that you know is reputable and does both.

They will photocopy your ID.

I would recommend Venus on 4th between A and B (I think that's where it was). They are piercing only and I had ALL my piercings done there (although it was years ago, it may be a $hithole now.. LOL)
But I agree with "don't do it" - I cracked a tooth on mine eating once and it also did irreversible gum damage. I have no gums on the backs of my two lower teeth. I had gum scraping done 2x and it's been 3 years since I took it out and they haven't grown back - and I NEVER PLAYED WITH IT. It used to annoy me when people were always clicking theirs or hanging it out of their mouth, I just "had" it, so it was just normal talking, eating and 'wear and tear' that did it. Oh, and I had a ‘shorter’ bar, too, not the one they pierce you with.

it is law you have to be 18 with parental consent.
they will photocopy your ID like Shorty said.
but unless she is your legal gaurdian you can't do it.
