I need recommendations for a bunch of places

Hi. So i am new to these boards and to NY sort of. i been here a bit over a year but i got pregnant right when i moved so i didnt get out much because i was not a happy pregnant lady.

Anyhow i am pregnant yet again but since i was not really working or going to school last year i didnt get a chance to make any friends so i dont have anyone to ask any of these things.

I do live in Brooklyn but i am looking for places in long island. I go to school in stony brook and am from Ca so i like LI's more suburban nature, i feel more at home there.

So, i need recommendations for the following.

A good nail place. Not too expensive either, i am sure there are some nice places in Manhasset for example but something like 50$ a pedicure is not my cup of tea, i will just feel ripped off.

I am looking for a place that charges less than 25 for a spa pedicure but doest look grudgy and dingy like some of the brooklyn places. A place in suffolk by SB would be nice.

Also, a hair place, i would LOVE to try a place that does Kerastase treatments but those places tend to be VERY pricey. So i just need a good hair lady, guy. I have really curly but baby fine Jewish girl hair (sorry best way i know of how to explain it). I need somoene good with color and cut.

Also, i need a dentist. Clearly one that takes my insurance, but you guys can not know if they do or do not upfront unless you have the same insurance, i have Guardian, which i am not even sure is very common here or not. So i am looking for a good dentist, gentle hands, etc.... but i want a high tech office as well, and a nice office, once again none of that crappy brooklyn stuff that does insurance fraud and seats you in chairs from the 1950s with equipment to match. Sorry, i am not used to that and it does ruin the experience, not to mention that it is the dentist and it is already unplesurable.

Ohh and all of those places, it would be nice if they where in some type of location with a parking lot, i just got a CRv and i just started driving here and my parallel parking skills are decent but i prefer not to practice them.

Anyhow, last time i had a pedicure was in OCTOBER!!! when i was in california. I am so paranoid about going to some of these places, ugh. Help me!

i dont feel comfortable driving around brooklyn and i dont take public transportation

There are a million places along 347 to get your nails done probably right around 18-25 bucks

As far as the hair I have a great place and woman. I have crazy curly hair as does this girl. She takes all kinds of curly hair classes and is always trying new cool stuff on me.

Her name is Jeanette from "who does your hair". It's on Merrick Rd. In bellmore/merrick. 221-2211. They are really awesome.
