I need help with HULU etc...
since I plan moving I dont plan on paying $$$ for cable, at most internet and phone.
How does HULU work, I know you watch everything a day late but is it on the TV, I know this sounds dumb not having a clue.
is it actual TV shows, movies, bravo cooking shows??
what equipment is required

I need help with HULU etc...
Yes it's an app on your tv or blu ray player. Tv shows but not all, depends on their contract. Not sure if bravo is on there. If you use the free version you should be able to see what they have. I use Hulu for almost all my shows.

We bought the amazon fire stick when we moved 2 months ago and it has apps built in and some that you can download. We have a Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime account, so we feel like we're not missing out on much. We also recently bought an indoor antenna that picks up the basic news stations near us as well.
And if there is a specific show you are looking for, check out YouTube. I've found several shows (BBT as an example) that are played on YouTube a few days after airing live.

We stream Hulu/Netflix/Amazon on our Roku, PS3, or smart TV. If you have a smart TV, you don't need any extra equipment. If you don't you'll need something like roku, amazon fire stick, or apple TV. There's lots of options out there and they're pretty inexpensive, besides being a one time fee. You will need to get internet through a cable provider though- Verizon, TWC, Optimum, something.
Hulu is mostly just TV shows but they have just about everything. There are commercials but they are shorter than if you were just watching it on cable.
Netflix/Amazon Prime are usually a season behind on TV shows but they have lots of great movies. Plus you can pay extra for shows/movies on Amazon if you want to own them.
We exclusively streamed for years and loved it. The only downside is sports- you can't really stream sports.

Literally ALL OF THIS!!! We have 1 cable box right now because we need to be able to get SNY (my Mets) and MSG (his Rangers).
