I need help with a letter....

To make a long story short, our car got hit in a parking lot and I am trying to write a letter to the lady asking her to pay for the damages outright instead of going through insurance.
I am trying to make it sound like a NICE letter so they will agree -
I will take any pointers you have

Dear Ms. Blah Blah,
On April 14, 2007 there was a minor car accident which took place in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Riverhead. This accident involved two cars, one belonging to me and the other registered to you (according to the Police Accident Report). My vehicle was parked in the lot facing westbound. My vehicle was hit while your vehicle was entering the adjacent parking space. The collision caused damage on the rear bumper of my vehicle. The bumper will need repair and new paint.
I would like to propose to you that we can amicably agree to handle the repair of our vehicle without going through our automobile insurance companies. Unfortunately, accidents as minor as this one can raise rates with both of our insurance companies which is something I would like to avoid for the benefit of both of us.
I have had the damage appraised by a local body shop, Charlie’s Quality Collision, Inc located in Riverhead. The damage estimate we received was for the amount of $491.92.
If you would like to handle the cost of the repairs in a private mannery, please feel free to contact me at the above address and/or phone number. I appreciate your consideration and again, would like to handle this outside of the insurance companies to avoid further rate increases for both parties. If I do not hear back from you by June 8th, I will unfortunately assume that you would like to handle this through your insurance company.

sorry this happened to you. But, good thing you know who did it. I got a big scratch from a car in a parking lot and there was nobody around when I got to my car so i diddn't even know who did it
