I need gift help!
My friend got a job teaching in Raleigh, NC (going away party is tomorrow) and I want to get her something really creative. I was thinking about a basket representing all the new things in her life (apartment, job, state, car, etc.) but can't think of what to use to really fill it up. All she talks about is her balcony at her apartment but I don't want to get her a plant she will have to lug down there with her in this heat. I did get her a great doormat so I guess that could be for the apartment.
Any ideas on what I can do to fill this basket? Please help! Thanks!

A map of the area for her car? Maybe a Gas Card?
Some writing instruments for the job...nice pen, or pen and pencil set.
I am not sure about anything else...but that might be a start.

Can you have the plant scheduled to be delivered right after she gets there?
I am drawing a blank on the new beginnings thing...maybe a pennant for a local team, an emergency road kit or something like that for a new car (I know it sounds a little motherly but I think all cars should have this).
I like the gas card idea -- maybe put together some snacks for the ride too?

I was actually thinking of having a plant delivered for when she gets there. I just wanted to fill the basket up with some things as well for tomorrow. I like the gas card idea and the snacks for the ride idea. Keep them coming! Thanks.

How about a gift certificate so she can buy some chairs for the balcony? Home Depot sells them
