I need crafty ideas for balloon weights!
I dont want to do those frilly stars from dollar tree, but that's my backup. I was thinking something with little foam rectangles from michael's, but I dont know what to stick in there. Its for DS's christening, I need 8. Is sticking in fake flowers too tacky? I need crafty people!!

Is there a theme??
How about foam or wooden shapes (from michaels) on sticks stuck in there? If the wooden ones, you can spray paint them. But, I don't know if that would be heavy enough.
for my baby shower- we found cute colored tin watering cans and stuck the balloon wieght inside them, so you couldn't see it.. Maybe look for cute containers like that?

There no real theme, just light blue and white. Its at a catering hall so theres not decorations to match or anything. The favors are little crystal carousels though.

Carissa I was looking all over for DS's christening on Sunday too. We just got this little pail/bucket looking things in the weddng section of the dollar store. We are just gonna put sand or one rock in each and tie the balloons to the handle.

I'd wrap the foam rectangles in blue paper and tie to that so they look like a gift. So easy, and then you can reuse them for other parties.

I don't think a foam block will hold the balloons down. Have you checked party city? They have a selection of balloon weights - some are solid colors and others have themes.

Maybe a wooden cross that you can paint/spray paint white and tie the ballons around?

I was going to suggest this....either blue or white wrapping paper...you can get the kind that is shiny and a little "fancier"
Or, purchase (I think Michaels Has) clear plastic containers/boxes/bags and fill them with blue/white M&M's...then tie ribbon around the outside.
