I need advice about fighting
My 11 month old twins have been fighting like crazy. My son Gavin, I will admit can be a toy theif, but now if he even goes near Ethan Ethan will go after him..Ethan will lunges at him, bite him, pull his hair, scratche his face, and knocks him down. I am at a complete loss. I never knew that twins could fight so much at such a young age....
Has anyone ever experienced this? How did you handle it? I hit his hand and tell him no and I have put him in his crib for a time out. I feel like he is going to be in anger management by the time he is 2....

Since you said you were looking for advice, I will give you MY opinion
Hitting his hand at the same time telling him not to hit does not teach the lesson, IMHO...you are hitting him, that will make him feel it is okay to hit....AGAIN, this is just my opinion
I think a time out or distraction (move them away from each other) may be more effective...I think it is really trial and error to see what works best

Re: I need advice about fighting
You are right. I shouldnt slap his hand and say no hitting..I put him in his crib for a few minutes this morning. When do you usually start time outs? Do you think he understands?

I started at about a year, I do not think she really "got" it back then but I think the main thing is to remove them from the situation. I find distraction works well for my daughter

they are only 11months...is a minute time out for every year old they are! techinally I would distract them from each other when it happens, tell them its not nice and to hug each other.. worked for my older two and my twins

I agree with this.
My mom would separate us when we were older, but leave us in the same room. That was enough that we would want to start playing together again. Of course at 40 years old, that's not working anymore.
