I need a restaurant recommendation - 110 area
I'm have a little Facebook reunion with one of my old friends from HS (haven't seen her since '86). She lives in Nassau and I live in Suffolk, so we are meeting in the middle around 110 somewhere. Can someone recommend a restaurant or bar/restaurant? She suggested maybe Melting Pot - but is that more for couples or do you think that would be fun?

I love the Melting Pot. I've been there with friends and it was a lot of fun. It is on the expnesive side though.
On 110, you also have Bertucci's, Ruby Tuesday's, Applebee's and if you go further south there is Houlihan's and Chili's. North there is a Friday's.

I totally agree with the others melting pot is over priced and not that great of food!!
How about Four, I've actually never been there either. I heard they actually have a ladies night and great drinks.

What do you want to do with your reunited friend? I would not recommend Four if you two want to sit and chat and catch up. I think the melting pot is a great place to hang out. I say you skip the meal and just have the chocolate and cheese. I never feel rushed there and it is very laid back.

Cirrello or Rosewood might be a little nicer for a dinner. They are north of the LIE but not terribly expensive and good.

ITA!! I like Four but the acoustics can be a little difficult. Although, given all the options, that would probably be my first choice.

I love the Melting Pot!!! I went there twice with a group of girlfriends and we had such a blast, definitely $$$ though. They definitely don't rush you at all. If you go, I would def suggest just doing appts and dessert, we all did not like the dinner that much. The first time we went we did the whole thing (appt, salad, dinner, dessert & drinks), the second time we did just appt, dessert & drinks.
My other suggestion would be Houlihans or Chili's

I agree, I was very disappointed in the Melting Pot as well.
The Library Cafe would be a great, casual place to catch up and you could always hang out at the bar after dinner if you wanted to.
