i need a purple dress...
anyone want to help me? i have a surprise 30th birthday party the first weekend in october and the invite requests you wear something purple. so it doesn't have to be ALL purple, just a noticeable amount at least. it's at east wind caterers but on a sunday afternoon.

That would bother me that they dictate what color to wear.
(Probably because I look putrid in purple)
But honestly, that is like making people not only come to the party and bring a gift but go out and buy a whole new outfit if they don't happen to have anything in that color.
OK that's off the topic though, I know. 
I will look around to see if I come up with anything to post!

I was in the mall the other day and there were alot of beautiful purple dresses at Macys. These are the ones I found online, but there were alot mor at the store - a whole section.

i'm not thrilled with the theme... not bc i look putrid in purple, but just bc i hate having to shop with a deadline. but it's not me making the rules, so i don't have much of a choice. these dresses are all very pretty but not falttering to my body style at all.
i will check out macy's and express as some of you posted dresses from there. i don't have a nordstrom's by me and i definitely want to be able to try on, so i can't go with online shopping for this. i'd rather go with a dress rather than a sweater and pants... bc i'd have to buy a sweater anyway, so i may as use this as an excuse to dress up a little if i can't find a dress, i'll look for a dressy shirt. thanks for all the ideas girls, and definitely continue to post if you see something. thanks!
