I may be insane but....
Has anyone ever heard of lotion for your dogs paws?
I know I know I may sound nuts but since my Bowzer isnt a puppy anymore he's lost his soft baby paws
I'm just wondering...I feel myself getting closer and closer wanted to exfoliate his little feeties lmfao! (But of course I wont)
Any advice would be great! Thanks

Don't do it...if their paws are too soft, they will cut easily and will hurt your pup when you walk him. The toughness of their paws protects their feet from hot ground, glass, sticks, etc. If you exfoliate or apply lotion, you will do more harm than good.
Sorry....

I would never put human lotion on my pup or really exfoliate his paws. I know better then that. I just feel bad cuz they're really rough. Sigh... guess I'll just have to put little booties on him LOL

I've wondered this also. Katie's paws - not nails - scratch me! They are so rough! I don't do anything because I know she would lick it right off.

Just as an aside, if your dog ever does develop a problem with the pads becoming over-dried, Bag Balm works wonders.

Re: I may be insane but....
Charlie's first snow was last year and the ground around our apartment was really icy. He kept getting all these little cuts on his paws and they were raw and bleeding. Our vet recommended a salve for his paws. It's especially for dogs and safe if he sticks his foot in his mouth which he loves to do.
We put it on every couple of days and it really helped a lot.
I don't remember the name but I can check later when I get home from work.
ETA: It might only be for the cold weather. I will check that too.
