I love this toddler stage - He's hunger striking again
This happens once a month or so.
The only things i could get him to eat the past 2 days were:
special K (he picked out the berries)
mac & cheese (i chopped grilled chicken very very VERY tiny - practically pureed- and mixed it in, he didn't even know he was eating it)
pizza (loaded the sauce up with carrots & broccoli, and again, he had no idea)
scrambled eggs (mixed in spinach and cheese to "trick him" into eating a veg)
french toast
yogurt
peanut butter/nutella on crackers - but he just licks the topping off the cracker, doesn't actually eat the cracker. (that was his dinner tonight) 
everything is "no thank you", with a shake of his head. He is SO stubborn and i don't have the patience to deal with this eating garbage right now.  So glad DH is home to do it.
I'm hoping it's just a little phase and he'll snap out of it tomorrow or the day after.
Am I the only one dealing with this, or is it a relatively normal toddler control issue?

Totally normal. Chelsea is on a permanent hunger strike. I wish she would eat 1/2 the stuff you just listed.
Her diet consists of:
Yogurt
String Cheese
Strawberries
Blueberries
Bologna 
Chicken nuggets
That. Is. It.
The kid won't even eat Mac and Cheese! What kid doesn't like that?
Oh and Cheese Doodles if I actually would buy them for her.
It has been like this for a year now.

Amelia had pop tarts for dinner. Not homemade pp tarts either, straight out of the box. S'more pop tarts. She did however, eat 2 go gurts when we got home from the beach. And she ate one whole strawberry before. I try, get frustrated and give up. I cant win with this kid.

Sorry, but that is funny. I thought DS was bad when he was younger and had his divided tray and I gave him ketchup for his fries and he was eating it with a fork.

My 20 month old DS is a terrible eater since starting solids! I try not to worry about it. He has good weeks and bad weeks. I just hope he outgrows it.

Normal AND frustrating. DS def has good days/weeks and bad. Really bad lol. He's the only kid I know that will not eat burgers, dogs, nuggets or mac and cheese. Fruit and carbs with an egg and yogurt thrown in is his diet of choice

Um I would jump up and down and sing if Sadie ate all that.
She eats
Cheese
Turkey
chicken nuggets
pb and j
pizza
yogurt
applesauce
pancakes, waffles, french toast
Any fruit
and most recently... hotdogs.
Most days Im lucky if I get in three of the above foods. And she is big for her age... so I guess she is surviving.

 welcome to my world! DS is the same age AND can't eat dairy so i'm amazed that he gets any nutrtion at the end if the day! he won't eat fruit, veggies, and most other stuff. my DD is and was the same way. it's the worst and so frustrating!! hang in there and keep trying. i gave up too early i think and created these bad eating habits in a way.  sounds like you are very creative in getting the important stuff into him though!

Same here..I would jump up and down if DS ate those foods. He only eats yogurt, pancakes, watermelon, honeydew, veggie sticks (when I buy them) and ritz crackers. Been over 9 months now... He won't eat chicken in any form. Hates Mac and Cheese. Basically hit or miss with what and when he is going to eat..

DD has the same menu minus the applesauce and french toast. She will also eat cucumebrs, peppers, magic-pop, mum-mums and dried pineapple. She would probably live on the last three if I let her.
Today she ate:
1/2 chobani yogurt
1/2 jelly sandwich (she licks the jelly off of the bread and then sometimes eats the bread)
3 slices of an individual Chuck E Cheese pizza
shredded cheddar cheese
2 mum-mums
Oh..and Gerber Graduate lil' munchies that I was feeding the baby.
That's it.
I don't fight, but I am constantly offering her different choices and new foods. I am starting to get better at "you are eating what I give you or nothing at all".

I think I would cry tears of joy if my 2 year old ate what Logan does.
His ENTIRE diet consists of:
powdered donuts
Pediasure
vanilla shakes
for the last 2 weeks
Before that it was
Veggie straws
plain vanilla cake
for 2 months
Since stopping baby food at 18 months this is ALL he's eaten like each & every day. He's never eaten solid food; never tried a piece of bread or pizza or pasta or a piece of chicken EVER.
Yes he is getting therapy but wouldn't qualify for EI.
Nicole; I'm sure w/ Logan it's a control thing & he'll have his normal appetite back soon. Don't stress; even w/ Jack's diet his bloodwork is normal & my pediatrician is not concerned in the least???

I would be ecstatic if my DD would eat what you listed! She is a fruit and carbaholic and basically will only eat straw/blueberries, watermelon, yogurt and bread. I am at my wits end about it but the ped said that as long as I give her the vitamin and keep trying to offer her other foods, she will eventually come around. I think they dont eat much at this point and hopefully the picky phase will be outgrown. It is frustrating!

yesterday he ate one bowl of granola - the day before 3 chicken fingers and some fries...I'm beyond worrying about it or getting frustrated - there were days I wanted to throw him through a window and now I don't care - he'll eat sooner or later i guess.

there are days jack eats like a champ, and then there are days all he wants is crackers. I dont get it.
but, im not the greatest eater either.
at daycare though, he eats like a king and is usually good eating for them too.
