The decision is a very personal one. I am just about 8 weeks and I have been searching high and low for a preservative-free flu and swine flu vaccine.

this is a hard decision, but remember sometimes these things are not related, it may have happened even if the woman didn't have the h1n1 shot
good luck

I just saw my OB today and he highly recommended both the vaccines and to get the one with the mercury if I had to. He said it is safe so I trust him.
The only one you cannot get for sure are the intranasal ones because they are live virus.
Just wanted to add I feel like I have a high risk of exposure and one co-worker in particular has absolutely NO immune system and is constantly sick.

Re: I know this is annoying but i really need advice
I saw my OB today for my first appt. She said they highly recommend getting a seasonal flu shot. I already have had the preservative free one. She mentioned nothing about H1N1. When I asked her she said they are recommending it. However they don't have it. I just got a weird feeling from her that for malpractice reasons they are recommending it but not distributing it. I find it odd she didn't offer the info, but I had to inquire. I am going to start looking into where to get it in my area. I live in VA so I am going to contact the DOH and see what they say.

Re: I know this is annoying but i really need advice
I got the H1N1 shot and the seasonal flu shot. The seasonal one was preservative free, but the H1N1 was not. I would have preferred it to be thimerisol-free, but I was so anxious to get the vaccine that I didn't care. (I also figured the amount of mercury in the shot is trivial- I do plan to eat tuna once in awhile, so I'll just eat it one time less). I got it a few weeks ago, now I am 12 weeks tomorrow. My friend at work also is 12 weeks, and got it a few weeks ago. I hope this helps.

Re: I know this is annoying but i really need advice
I got both shots yesterday. I trust my OB and to me, the risks of the flu outweigh the risks of the shot. Pregnant women are in a higher risk group and I wanted to be protected. I understand your indecision, the conflicting info out there is enough to make a sane person nuts.
I was preggo last flu season as well and had the flu shot and have a healthy DC to show for it.
Many hugs!

Re: I know this is annoying but i really need advice
Well I wouldn't use that one case as an example because a miscarriage at 5 weeks is not uncommon (unfortunately), even without the shot.
I read at my ob's office that if you get treated right away for the flu (the day you get symptoms), the chance of hospitalization and other complications are diminished so I decided to get the seasonal flu but not H1N1. At least the seasonal shot has been in use for a long time.
