I knew this was going to happen

Past few days/nights DD has been crying every time I put her down to sleep, she has always been sooo good with going to sleep and all of a sudden she started this, and I don't know WHY I don't know what to do, I am trying to let her CIO tonight but I don't think it's working, b/c she's been crying for 20 min nonstop and every time I go in to comfort her it seems that I make it even worse. Parents who have gone through this ,please give me some advice, I googled and read up every article about the subject, but I think personal experience will be more helpful.

Thank you

I'm not sure how old dd is but let me tell you, i'm going through the same thing. She used to go down so easily but the last few nights cries, cries, cries. I don't let her cry longer than 20 minutes and if she starts crying where she's sobbing, I get her. It breaks my heart. I think just when you get to know them, or they establish a pattern, they switch it up on you!

Not sure how old your DD is - but for us, I never go in to console him when he's crying - it makes him 100x worse.

Sometimes he cries for two minutes - sometimes he whines/cries for an hour.

If he is really freaking out then I go get him - we play a little - then start all over. That happened this morning. He ended up falling right to sleep after about 20 mins of playing!

Could she be teething. DS was a great sleeper, but teething is really throwing us for a loop with bedtime and waking up during the night. Chat Icon

Re: I knew this was going to happen

my dd is 8m and going through similiar situation. I have been reduced to putting her back in her swing and she passes out, but as soon as i transfer into crib, she starts rolling all over the place. Shes also been putting her face straight into the mattress.

Im not sure the age of your dc, but im thinking my dd might be getting closer to a tooth.. and this is fustrating her causing her not to settle to sleep.
