I just want to say BOOOOO AND HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS
to the upcoming tax season.
Yes, I am grateful for my dh's job and his lovely pay check. I am also grateful for the additional OT this season brings.
but I am so sad b/c doing things together is so hard.
vacations are out...even late night drink fests with friends on Friday night get the kabbash most times.
and no more saturdays in bed. normally we're in bed until 9am on Saturday mornings just enjoying...but not during tax season. he is up and out the door by 6 am...leaving me in a cold bed alone.
soooo
BOOOOOO AND HISSSSSSSSSSSS to you tax season.
I will only like you in June...when the OT $$ comes rolling in

I'm thankfully for it since it gives me a lot of OT hours, and extra $$ for a house.
But I do dread the stress.

I feel your pain! DH was an accountant and the tax season months were so lonely. I never saw him. I was washing and drying (to reference superbad). I was ecstatic when he switched fields and gave a huge good riddance to tax season.

ooh, I used to work in public accounting and I LOATHED tax season
and I did not get overtime either, just like 1,000 weeks vacation per year for working 70 hours a week for 4 months
I DO NOT Miss that ****

these are my reasons for staying in the field. although last year i banked all my ot for my honeymoon and vacations instead of $.

normally, it's me out there during tax season.
not doing it this year. although i need the money, i feel guilty leaving ds alone so much already.
i hop the tax season moves along quickly for everyone in the trenches

I'm right there with you. My DH is a tax accountant and as soon as New Year's passes I get grumpy knowing he'll be around a lot less.
