I haven't gotten any mail since the snowstorm...

My mailbox is buried under a mountain of snow - too much for me to shovel...

I noticed that I have not received any mail - and I usually get something everyday!!!!

There is also a lot of snow around the mailbox. My back still hurts from digging out my car - and I noticed no one else on my block dug out their mailboxes either - is the mailman not giving me mail because of all the snow around the mailbox??????

mail carriers do not have to deliver mail if there is not a clear path to the mailbox

I don't have the same issue but you might be able to go down to the PO and pick up your mail. I would give them a call at your branch.

My mailman doesnt deliver unless we dig a space for him to pull up to the box, its worse then digging out the driveway because as soon as a plow comes by, we usually have to do it again!

There is so much snow, I don't think I can do it I have a bad back and I almost destroyed it digging out my car - it's finally better - and there is more snow around the mailbox than there was on my car

If I go to the post office, it will be there for me to pick up?

I had my DH dig a walk way from teh street to the mail box today due to lack of mail the last 3 day!
Well today, I went out and my mailbox was full!

So I would guess the reason you arent getting mail is due to the snow!

Yes the mailperson won't deliver if he/she does not have access to the mailbox. The day of the snowstorm DH was outside in the driveway with the snowblower and our mailperson wouldn't deliver our mail because the mailbox was covered. DH hadn't cleared that area yet So he wound up chasing the mailperson down the block.

It's true that if they can't get to your mailbox, they reserve the right not to deliver it! Mine is on a post at the curb.

After the storm, I needed a GPS to find mine. It was literally buried under an 8-foot mound of snow. My mailman ended up delivering my mail to my door that first day, and the next day I had a package, so he brought it to my steps. It wasn't until yesterday that I spent an hour digging to find the mailbox. Today my mail was in the box!

same thing happened to my parents.
my mom fwd the mail to their work.
def give a call because as nice it is to not get bills in the mail........they still need to be paid hehe

Last year when I was living upstate, the PO refused to deliver the mail if there was snow even near the mailbox. We shoveled and then they were able to reach into the box and leave a note saying it wasn't good enough!!!!!!

I dunno. My DH made a nice clear path for him since day 1 and we got all our mail yesterday. I think he just skipped our block. Maybe since it is a dead end. Put everything was plowed

as said above...the mailman usually wont deliver if there isnt a path to the mail box...they are probably holding it for you at the post office.

We havent gotten mail in about two weeks. The plow completely buried our mailbox and our neighbors. I've been trying to catch the mailman outside. DH spent about 4 hrs shoveling out the two mailboxes the other day and it was like Christmas with all the mail and things I ordered finally being delivered!

I have heard the same about not getting mail if you do not have a path. We didn't have a path on Thursday since our mail comes wicked early, mailman left it on my car, which was nice. Maybe try and get him alittle path to make it to it?

If they can't get to the mailbox - you won't get your mail. They hold it for you at the post office.

We have a PO Box and when I was at the post office last week they had signs in the window detailing how you are supposed to clear the way to your mailbox - 30 feet leading up to the box so the truck can pull up. Just having a narrow walkway to the box was not acceptable. That was for areas where it's a truck route. If it's a walking route then I would assume a narrow walkway is acceptable as long as it's cleared enough to be safe.

Someone around the block from me put out like a rubbermaid box or something and wrote "Mailbox" on it, and put it on top of the snow closest to the street. It is hard to tell because of the snow mounds, and the time of day that I usually pass that house, but I think his mailbox got taken out by a plow so he's taking alternate routes to get mail.

But since DH got to miss 2 storms, then yeah, he totally gets to man up and shovel out the mailbox
