i have to go for my 1st bloodwork saturday
how much blood do they take??? I'm such a baby when it comes to things like this

They took bloodwork after my 8 week sono and it was over pretty quick. I didn't look at how many vials, but dh said it was a few.
I think I have bloodwork again at my 12 week sono on Weds...not sure how much will be taken.
Good luck  Just don't look!

Same here, and it does go faster than you'd think. I'm not fond of it either, but it wasn't too bad!

Not to scare you or anything but I counted mine and they took 10 vials...you'll be fine though, its really quick.

I got YOU beat - they took about 25 with me!  This was at Quest, and even my dr. was shocked when she heard this, so I dont know what the hell they were doing - so I dont want to scare anyone, I think the woman was a moron. Or a vampire and storing up a snack for herself.

The first time I went to the doctor (5 weeks PG) they only took 1 vial then a month later they did the prenatal blood work for which they took 8 vials.
Honestly, once the needle is in, it doesnt matter how much blood they take, its the actual needle going in for me.

ditto... It went very quickly & I think I got 8 or 9 vials.
I just always remember to being OJ or a piece of fruit to being afterward b/c I am anemic & it helps to prevent that faint feeling.
It was fine & the needle is sooooo small that I did not even feel it!
