I have become the person I hate
Today, a friend is getting married and I'm not at the ceremony.  I seriously HATE it when people skip the ceremony because, to me, that's the most important part. But she admitted to me that there is no A/C in the church. I would die. And, there's 5 hours between end of ceremony and cocktail hour. And it's about 1 hour away.
I still wanted to go, but DH told me no. So, he's there by himself. I am a sweaty, hormonal, 9 month preggo who feels trapped. But I am excited for cocktail hour to begin at 7:00!!!!

don't be so hard on yourself! at least you are making it to the wedding at all! i'm SURE your friend will not only understand, but would be doing the same exact thing if she were in your situation.
so stop feeling guilty and ENJOY the cocktail hour

i agree with your decision to stay home completely!!!
it is sooooo hot out today - i was out for a few minutes and i had to come right back home...so unbearable!!!
and besides - u will have more energy for tonight. if u went from now u would be exhausted by the time the reception started!!!

Yeah I would go to the cocktail hour and have a pig in a blanket for me. Soon you will have your own piglet in a blanket. I only say this to Kelly because she can take it.

Unfortunately, pigs in a blanket are not an elegant food and aren't normally served at weddings.  I made sure we had them at ours. Even the Banquet Manager said 'You don't want those'. I said you have no idea who you are talking to. I wanted Buffalo wings too, but I said no to that.

DH has just informed me that there was a wedding in the church before my friend's wedding that has gone on too long. They have been standing outside for 45 minutes waiting. Now I feel better that I didn't go.

You are 9 months pregnant and have asthma and there is no AC at this church. It's a no brainer, you could not go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not have been able to go (b/c of the AC) and I am barely 7 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some people in your shoes (or flip flops??) might have skipped the entire event and stayed home with a gallon of ice cream on a day like this.

But our banquet manager told us, "no matter what fancy concoctions we can come up with, people still want their pigs in blankets." He practically insisted that we have them because he said they always "go." If they don't serve them, maybe it's for the best b/c hot dogs are on some "bad list" for preggos. I guess that rules out cooking up my dog, Oscar, and having him for dinner!!!!

Are you freakin kidding me? My hall made their own homemade puff pastry for our pigs. I had a black tie wedding and the pigs went FAST!

I have a wedding to go to today as well and I didn't attend the ceremony. I'm not nearly as far along as you are so I don't think you should feel bad. I just get so tired lately that I don't want to poop out and have to leave early.
