I have a problem...
I can't sleep at night. Im up all night thinking somone is going to break in. I think its after all thouse break ins.
Last nightI went to bed at 12 I was up at 1:15 and was still looking at the clock at 3:30.  When we lived in the apt. I was never like this. And we lived on a busy rd.
We HAVE AN ALARM but im still paranoid.
I cant keep doing this

Have you tried maybe listening to a CD that helps you relax or makes you happy? Maybe lock your bedroom door at night and that may help you feel safer in a way. I hope you're able to get some sleep soon!

I have been keeping similar hours for different reasons and it's awful. Would upgrading your security system or setting booby traps in your house help until get more used to being in the house? Motion sensor lights, extra deadbolts, soda cans with change on the window jams?

It's really scary. When I was away at school, the dorm room next to us was broken into in the middle of the night over Thanksgiving break. One of the girls didn't go home, and was IN THE ROOM while they robbed them. She laid so still and they never even knew she was there.
The only way she was ever able to get a full night's sleep was when her BF stayed the night. Having DH next to you doesn't help at all?
What about taking a minor sleeping pill on a night that you can get at least 8 hrs - when you don't need to be up early? Maybe if you get ONE good night's sleep, others will fall in line soon?
Again, I'm so sorry - I HATE feelings of anxiety.

Having Mike there is nice. I think if he wasnt there id never sleep at all. But I toss and Turn and sit up all night and I feel bad cause then he's awake.

Something similar happened to me about 3 years ago when my neighbors house went on fire!
I woke up to my house filled w/smoke(It was in the middle of July so my windows were open)I ran downstairs thinking it was our home and saw my neighbors house in flames
I had many a sleepless nights for a while after this happened,but just know this will pass in time
Maybe a glass of wine or whatever you can do to ease your mind before bed!
I hope you feel more at Ease real soon

Nothing.. Maybe I was just so tired from not getting any sleep lately that I just slept. I went to bed at 10:30 and slept the entire night too.

But I think I got the problem. Last night I was in teh bath and i swore I heard someone. I made DH stay on the phone with me until he got home (about 8 minutes later)
