I HATE Naptime
As most of you know I can not do CIO so trying to transition Miranda to going for naps in her cradle opposed to our bed and going down awake is a real PITA!!! I wouldn't care if I wasn't going back to work PT but I just want to be able to have someone watch her if I decide to work during the week and not have an ordeal trying to get her to take a nap. Her dad will bounce her to sleep and lay with her like I do but my mom physically wouldn't be able to use the exercise ball so that will be a problem.
I hate that she will be half asleep in my arms and the second I put her down she's awake. This happens at night but most of the time she puts herself back to sleep just fine but I think no matter what I do I just can't make the room dark enough for naps. Grrrr. She doesn't really cry just sits in there wide awake whimpering. I just have to be patient and stick to my guns!!

Re: I HATE Naptime
Have you tried getting her to sleep in the bouncy? I know its not the best option but it would be easy for your Mom. My daughter still naps in her bouncy at almost 10 months old. I know thats bad but it works. If she naps in her crib, she'll last 45 minutes tops. In her bouncy 2 hours. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion but she has never ever slept in the bouncy. We've tried it all since she was born. She will sleep in her cradle once she's asleep the problem is getting her to sleep without crying. We have been bouncing her to sleep which I don't mind that much but really would like her to be able to understand and be able to fall asleep on her own.
It took 3 tries and a little bouncing but I put her in awake and she finally fell asleep. Its been about an hour so far. I just have to be patient and give her time to learn.
