I hate being the "bad guy" when it comes to projects....
We're having a fire pit placed in our lawn before we seed.
my DH and I had agreed upon the location but they moved the fire ring during regrading and laying the top soil.
they asked me where to pace the fire pit and I think I have it closer to the house/walkway than originally intended. They've already dug a 4'x1'plus hole to place the pit in. They're gonna hate me when I tell them we need to move it back.  I have to do this now because they'll be setting the stone around the ring so we wont be able to move it later.
i so wish my DH was here to handle this.  He's better at being the bad guy. 
Oh and to top it off, they hit a sprinkler line (new...just installed last week!) while digging the first spot I placed it in! I placed it over a line and didn't know it. Apparantly my DH knew where the lines were so he had the pit placed further back.
Ugh...I hate this stuff!

That stinks. Dh usually likes when i'm the "bad guy" It could be worse. It could be the middle of july, hazy, hot and humid!

LOL!!!
I couldn't do it. I'm leaving the pit where it is. If my DH wants to bust balls tomorrow...he can do it.
I feel bad! These guys have been digging for 2 hours and now they're laying the bricks for the bottom of the pit.
I emailed my DH pics of the location and apparently I have the pit 3' forward from where we initially planned on putting it.  I suck with measurements! LOL

Very true! 
All I want is grass at the moment! We've had a mud/dirt pit since November!  They're finally spraying the seed now!!! Hopefully we'll have a lawn in a few weeks. 
I'm hoping they wont get much further with the pit, so if my DH comes home and decides he doesn't like the placement, we can get our butts out there tonight and dig a hole where he wants to put it and fill in the other one.

I feel the same way! Our friend is the contractor doing our bathroom remodel so I am even more sensitive about it. I keep making my husband tell him when I want something changed.
Normally I am always the bad guy though and it is definitely not fun.
The fire pit sounds great though!

You can sort of see the hole that they dug based on what I told them, but I should have had them dig the hole where the fire ring is.
We plan on putting 4 adirondack chairs around it (possibly more) and my DH is worried the placement will interrupt the natural flow into the backyard. 
ETA: I just noticed my DD's shovel in the pic! Maybe I'll put her to work this evening!

Ugh...it gets hairy when you use a friend. My DH doesn't give a crap though (I wish he would rub off on me. )
I always make my DH do the dirty work, but I tell him to blame it on me so he doesn't look like such a bad guy. LOL
