I guess Im food nesting

DH made a vat of sauce, 40+ meatballs yesterday so today I made 2 (half) trays of ziti (with one more to go) I have 3 bags of diced up chicken, abt a gallon of chicken stock, we got a pork loin and cut it all up, some frozen veggies and everything is now is our newly purchased freezer!

Any other ideas that I can freeze...we have no one around to help us out like they did with #1 and I dont want to worry about what to cook the first couple of weeks!

and I finally ordered a bouncer and diapers! OK tomorrow marks 37 weeks....Im a getting ready! Chat Icon

...now Im completely exhausted and my back is killing me...just hope its not tonigh cause Im shot!

Its great to get prepared while you can... I hope I can make some casseroles or lasagna and freeze it ahead of time. MIL helped make us some dishes last pg...maybe we can ask her to help again.

Ooh, I'm jealous of your freezer! I've been packing ours and I think I'm finally out of room. I have lasagna, meatloaf, mexican stuffed shells, burrito pie, beef chili, chicken chili, goulash, and english muffin pizzas. I have several portions of each plus a few random other meals. Cooking is more fun than scrubbing my cabinets!

Here's what I was able to dig up!

Chicken Chili
Bean and Beef Chili
Taco Stuffed Shells
Crescent Chicken Bundles
Burrito Pie
Crockpot Beef Goulash

Some of the recipes have freezer instructions. Most I just cook all the way and then freeze with my foodsaver.

Re: I guess Im food nesting

thanks...Im so ify on how and what foods to freeze...then how to reheat them

what I did (I really cheated) I picked up 2 rotisserie chickens (already cooked) from Costco....picked them apart, cut them all up and bagged the chicken abt 2 cups per bag and froze them
figured this way I can just add them to almost anything, and it defrost quickly too...my latest is chicken pot pie! so good

then take the carcass (skin and all) and made stock...froze a few different size containers from 2 cups to a 6 cup
(can use it in the chicken pot pie, make soup, ect...)

thinking about making shepards pie tomorrow and freezing it too
