I found out something shocking after my C-section.
I havent posted my birth story yet, but just wanted to share this bc I am, still shocked, upset and sad...
The day after I had the baby, my doctor came to see me and apparently, I only have one ovary . She said that my right one is missing and that the tubes on that side were damaged. She said that it was nothing to worrry about and obviously I had no trouble TTC.
Of course that's all I can think about. I am going to talk to her about it when I go see her next week.
I have never had any females problems or surgery.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Wow! Would they have even figured that out if you didn't have the C-section?

Did your Mom take DES? It could also just be something that happened at conception, development(I mean yours not your babys) The body is amazing and since you got PG i don't think you have anything to worry about. You probably still O every month from your remaining ovary.

Re: I found out something shocking after my C-section.
Wow....I had nothing like that found out at my c-section, but they did find a large cyst on my falopian tube during surgery and removed it. The doctor said it had nothing to do with the pregnancy and probably would have started bothering me in a very painful way shortly and I would have had to have it surgically removed. So i was glad they got that.

Wow...I can't believe it took this long to find that out. If you had had problems conceiving you would have found out then. But that is crazy. At least you know that the other ovary is really good, otherwise you would have had problems. I'm sure you will have no problems if and when you TTC again.

don't worry until you find out more, but like they said at least you did not have trouble TTC.
They did not check prior? I had 2 visits where during the sono they looked at my ovaries to check them

I'm surprised too they didn't know earlier. On my first sono, they pointed that out to me.
Although it didn't seem to affect you, I am sure it must be upsetting to learn it.

RELAX.......My lt side is the only "real" side I have on the right my ovary, and fallopian tube are just floating around. You will be fine.........just try to relax and enjoy being a new mom. If you didn't have trouble with this baby you should be ok for any future kids most likely

It's definitely something you want the answer to. An easy way to eliminate DES is were you born on/before 1971?
Also, if the answer is yes, - there are other risks associated with DES that you absolutely need to be educated on. An attorney in my old lawfirm specialized in the lawsuits against the pharmaceutical company that manufactured DES. Depending on the statute of limitations, you could also be entitled to some compensation.
