I found a couch from JCP
but the shipping is $224 
The couch I found is on clearance, but the shipping cost is what kills me. Is there any way to avoid the shipping cost on JCP furniture?

Sometimes they have free shipping to one of there stores if you can pick it up.

Ship it to the home store in Lake Grove. It won't be free, but it will be a LOT cheaper.

Ugh! and usually the free shipping codes don't apply to furniture.

this is my biggest problem with JCP!! I bought a bed for $199 and shipping was $250!! but combined the price was still so good, I just bought. they do deliver it on a truck, not through ups or fedex though, so I think thats why its so much more.
its like that on target too! I found these awesome nightstands on clearance for $69!! with shipping though its over $150 for 1!! I may as well get ones that aren't on clearance and actually stocked in stores and I would save $$ buying ones at full price

See if this code works... JCFOLSPC, it is supposed to be for free shipping for all orders over $99 from now till May 1 2010

Nope didn't ... but they do have these codes all the time. Maybe look out for them.

Nope didn't ... but they do have these codes all the time. Maybe look out for them.
they never work on furniture

I would see if it's still cheaper, even with the shipping charge. Remember, even local furniture stores (like Raymour, etc) will charge you for shipping (granted, not $250, but they will still charge)!
I ended up buying 2 leather sofas from JCP on supersale for ~$600 each. Comparable sofas from Raymour were over $1500 PER SOFA!
So look around, the couch may still be worth it afterall!!!

I know, and it's killing me!! The couch and the loveseat are only about $399 each!
