I finally got to go on the maternity tour today
It feels so close now! I totally got emotional when I walked into the labor suite. I was just overcome with all kinds of feelings (anxiety, excitement, etc.)
Now if I can only get someone to inspect my car seats I'd feel better. Getting a police officer to call you back about a car seat is next to impossible!! I've been trying for WEEKS!
I guess I should start packing my hospital back - I've procrastinated long enough

go to local fire dept and ask them to inspect car seats...

I live in Putnam - I toured Northern Westchester Hospital. I didn't realize the labor room was actually a nice suite. TV, wireless internet, CD, jacuzzi, etc. I always thought it was very "hospital" like vs. a room. They did say I would be able to drink and eat liquids (jello, broth, etc) - not sure I'm going to care but I thought I wouldn't be able to have anything but ice chips. I preregistered while I was there...so now I need to pack and I'm ready!!!
You should do a tour if you can - I feel better now that I know where to go and what to expect.
